THE KITCHEN SPONGE DILEMMA
In 2021, I found myself in a dilemma: "Should I ditch my old kitchen sponge or just disinfect it? Isn't it too wasteful to replace it every two weeks?"
Aside from my constant worries over stinky odors and bacteria, tossing the sponge in the trash and knowing that they will end up in our landfills left me with guilt that's so hard to ignore.
Enter the SWEDISH DISHCLOTH, an eco-friendly kitchen sponge alternative. I saw an opportunity to bring it to the Philippines and share it to every household. Armed with a desire to solve my own problems and inspire others, I have evolved from a stay-at-home, unschooling mom into an accidental entrepreneur. And that, my friends, is how ELIX & SKYE started.
If there's something that this pandemic has taught me, it’s choosing to live better and more intentional. It's important to understand how our actions impact the world we all live in. Climate change and plastic waste are problems we can't easily solve but collective efforts, no matter how small, can help make a difference.
